You will find me in the hills above the Florence suburb of Scandicci, Italy. Transportation can be arranged from Florence. We can discuss the details when you make your booking.
Travelling by public transport
If you want to avoid the crazy Florence drivers, buses are often your best bet. Scandicci is extremely well connected by trams.
If coming from the center of Florence, catch the tram headed to Villa Costanza (the end of the line), on the outskirts of Scandicci. Trams run from 5:30 am to midnight, every 4 minutes until 8 pm, then every 8 minutes until the end of daily service.
Tickets cost € 1,50 each and are valid for 90 minutes. They must be purchased before getting on buses and trams, and then validated in the yellow machines onboard. It is possible to purchase tickets on some buses, from drivers, at a cost of € 2,50 each way.
Travel times by road are less than you might think. Scandicci is well placed on the Italian motorway network so getting here is easy.
From the north: Bologna is about 1 hour away; Milan 3 hours.
From the south: Rome is about 3 hours away, Arezzo and Siena 1 hour.
Route information for drivers can be found on the Autostrade per l’Italia website and Tuttocittà.
